First Track was formerly going to be part of a longer work. That may still come. I had called it Winter Files for John Harvey then (months/years later really) Three Files for John Harvey but changed my mind.

A few years ago, I collaborated with Prof John Harvey (Aberystwyth University School of Art). Together we developed a Call and Response work, processing and composing around a recording of one of the art department photocopiers. I ended up with 100s of files that I try and repurpose, to try and get them to cohere, this was part of a forthcoming ep using those discarded parts. But I may have changed my mind. There are hours of files which I often feel drawn to-austere white noise and spectral smear-they could work, you could rework them-they maybe need to remain hidden!

The uplands of Tregaron are littered with these Ty Un Nos, and old farmsteads, or weavers’ cottages and disused mine shafts as well as other agricultural detritus the mill etc., and when you chance there, without your camera it is best; it is almost impossible to not be reflective and still. The same as when the flux of noise arcs.
